She said librarians are <br /> important. <br /> Chair Price asked if state and federal money for infrastructure will affect this part of the <br /> budget. She asked if the county will be able to use some of this money for network <br /> improvement or wireless expansion, as Orange County is trying to extend fiber to rest of the <br /> county. <br /> Travis Myren said yes, these monies will like be shuffled around, especially with the <br /> desktop/lap top replacement schedule. He said desktops are waning, and lap top usage is <br /> increasing, as it allows employees to work from home, or on the go. He said if expenditures can <br /> be tied back to the pandemic in some way then federal monies can be applied. <br /> Chair Price said there are some bills being considered for broadband expansion. She <br /> asked if it was passed if some of that money could be used for these efforts and the other <br /> money could be allocated elsewhere. <br /> Travis Myren said the Broadband Taskforce is currently vetting the potential funding <br /> sources associated with Broadband in addition to more money that could be coming to the <br /> County. He said this is a good area to look at for potential federal funds.
