Pilot Program Implementation <br /> 33 <br /> 34 The Board received an update on activities related to the Orange County Public Transportation <br /> 35 Mobility on Demand Pilot Program and related transit services. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 BACKGROUND: <br /> 38 Orange County Public Transportation, in an effort to expand its services based in part on public <br /> 39 participation comments received through various outreach efforts pursuant to the long range <br /> 40 transportation planning process, has implemented a rideshare pilot program. Working in <br /> 41 collaboration with Transloc, through a pilot grant with the Ford Motor Company, and using <br /> 42 Article 43 Tax District funds, the County has been able to procure five (5) wheelchair accessible <br /> 43 passenger vans, tablets, and also provide for driver salaries to cover this new service. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Trip reservations for the service can be accessed by a website platform which is linked on the <br /> 46 Orange County Public Transportation website, or by downloading the app from either the Apple <br /> 47 store or Goggle store.
