John Smith, Jr. was appointed as Orange County Tax Assessor in August <br />1996 to complete the unexpired term of Kermit Lloyd, He was reappointed fortwo-year periods <br />July 1, 1997 -June 30, 1999, .July 1, 1999 -June 30, 2001, July 1, 2001 -June 30, 2003, and <br />July 1, 2003 - .)une 30, 2005. To further the long-term stability of the Assessor's Office, and in <br />recognition of Mr. Smith's outstanding service aver the years as Tax Assessor, staff <br />recommends that the Board make the reappointment for a period of four years. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board reappoint John Smith, Jr. <br />as Orange County Tax Assessor for a period of four years, effective July 1, 2005. <br />
