83 <br /> Attachment 1 <br /> Item 4.c. <br /> • Historically recurring funding <br /> • Project cap $750K but can be combined with other funding sources <br /> • Projects assessed on a quarterly basis relative to cost/benefit on anticipated <br /> reduction in travel time during peak periods <br /> • R/w acquisition and utility relocation costs are eligible but should be minimized <br /> • Project delivery in 18-24 months following funding approval <br /> • Examples of potential projects: <br /> o Turn lanes <br /> o Signalization to improve side street operation <br /> o Modification of signal phasing/timing to improve efficiency <br /> o Lane widening <br /> o Off-site improvements at public and private schools subject to NCGS 136- <br /> 18(29a) <br /> • Current/Recent Projects in Orange County <br /> o Reimbursement to CHCSS for turn lanes at Chapel Hill High School <br /> Expansion- (Reimbursement upon satisfactory completion by school <br /> system) <br /> Annual Maintenance Resurfacing: <br /> • Program Purpose- Repair and Resurface existing pavements to provide for <br /> acceptable operation and maintenance condition <br /> • State funded program <br /> • Recurring annual allocation per county/division as stipulated by enacted State <br /> budget <br /> • 5-year program developed for implementation and updated annually <br /> • Projects selected based on relative ranking of biennial pavement condition <br /> survey, engineering judgement and local jurisdiction input <br /> • Close coordination with local stakeholders is critical in project selection and <br /> scheduling <br /> • Widening of existing travel lanes and/or installation of paved shoulders possible <br /> where warranted but limited to no more than 10% of program <br /> • Other improvements not eligible <br />
