24 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners on March 25, 1976, <br /> 3 established the Orange County Commission for Women to promote the growth and <br /> 4 development of all Orange County women and continue to promote the efforts of women and it <br /> 5 has been doing for more than 40 years. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 NOW, THEREFORE, do we, the Board of Commissioners of Orange County, North <br /> 8 Carolina hereby proclaim March 2021 as "Women's History Month" and commend this <br /> 9 observance to Orange County residents and call upon them to celebrate the women in their <br /> 10 lives with appropriate programs, celebrations and activities. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 THIS THE 2nd DAY OF MARCH, 2021. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Renee Price, Chair <br /> 16 Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> 17 <br /> 18 A motion was made by Commissioner Greene, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, to <br /> 19 approve and authorize the Chair to sign the resolution recognizing March 3, 2021 as a day of <br /> 20 reflection, commemorating the first North Carolinian diagnosed with COVID-19. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Roll call ensued <br /> 23 <br /> 24 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Vicki Jones, Orange County Training and Performance Manager, said one of the <br /> 27 Department of Equity and Inclusion initiatives is to offer Virtual Lunch and Learns to the County. <br /> 28 She said the March Lunch and Learn will feature Dr. Joanne Wilson from Duke Health. She <br /> 29 invited the Commissioners to attend the Lunch and Learn, on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, and to <br /> 30 submit ideas for future Lunch and Learns. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 e.
