Article 5: Uses 200 <br /> Section 5.9: Standards for Utilities <br /> d. All access points shall be located to provide maximum <br /> visibility and safety. <br /> e. No driveway shall be permitted in a location that will <br /> hinder or congest traffic movement on a public street. <br /> 5.8.5 Schools: Technical, Trade, and Skill Training <br /> (A) Use Standards <br /> (1) Standards for the LCA, NC-2, CC-3, EC-5, EDH-4, and EDH-5 Zoning <br /> Districts <br /> (a) Structures shall not exceed 16,000 sq.ft. of floor area. <br /> (b) Schools shall involve only activities associated with Continuing <br /> Education, Performing/Fine Arts, Sports and Recreation, and Trade <br /> schools as defined herein. <br /> (2) Standards for the GC-4, 1-2, 1-3, EDB-2, and EDE-2 Zoning Districts <br /> (a) Schools shall involve only activities associated with Continuing <br /> Education, Performing/Fine Arts, Sports and Recreation, and Trade <br /> schools as defined herein. <br /> (3) Standards for the O/RM, NR-CD, or MPD-GZ-CD Zoning Districts <br /> (a) All School: Technical, Trade, and Skill Training land uses, as defined <br /> herein, shall be permitted. <br /> (4) Applications proposing flight training schools shall submit documentation <br /> identifying where actual flying activities are intended to occur. No on-site flying <br /> activities, other than the use of simulators, shall be permitted. <br /> (5) Applications proposing a Community College shall require prior approval, and <br /> budgetary allocation of funds by, the Orange County Board of County <br /> Commissioners before being submitted for processing if County funding is <br /> required. <br /> (B) Standards of Evaluation <br /> (1) All outdoor activity areas shall be buffered by a Type B land use buffer around its <br /> perimeter in accordance with Section 6.8.6 of this Ordinance. <br /> SECTIONSTANDARDS • UTILITIES <br /> - <br /> 5.9.1 Telephone Exchanges (without business offices), subscriber loop huts, pressure regulator <br /> stations, water and sanitary sewer pumping stations <br /> (A) Standards of Evaluation <br /> (1) The design of structures shall conform as closely as possible to the character of <br /> the area in which it is located. <br /> (2) Building or structures shall conform to the minimum building setback distances <br /> for the applicable zoning district and shall not exceed 800 square feet in area. <br /> (3) All buildings and structures shall be landscaped and screened according to the <br /> standards that follow: <br /> (a) Buildings and structures which resemble residential accessory structures <br /> must be landscaped and maintained in the character of a residential <br /> area. <br /> (b) Any outside storage areas must be fenced with a minimum five foot <br /> fence and the area screened from adjacent property according to the <br /> standards in this section. <br /> Orange County, North Carolina—Unified Development Ordinance Page 5-67 <br />
