The free STEM based
programs bridge the gap between classroom instruction and extend the "learning day"
through innovative educational activities. Alongside this, Kidzu has provided free access to
Kidzu one day per month for the community since 2006. Kidzu has a positive track record
securing and managing grant funding from multiple sized corporations and private
foundations. Foundation funding makes up the majority of our direct support revenue (which
maintains over 65% of our general operating budget). Throughout the years, Kidzu has
received different funding sources to support our Open Access programs (GlaxoSmithKline,
Wells Fargo, Strowd Roses, Ronald McDonald) but relies heavily on the funds from Orange
County to ensure the programming remains free for local children. Kidzu has consistently
met reporting deadlines and budget objectives for all funding awards.
4. Living Wage: Does this agency pay permanent employees a minimum living
wage?
