Once the design is complete, the conservation easement will be dreHed by the <br />County Attomey, ERCD staff antl NC DWO using the project tlesign. An <br />example of such en easement Is provided sa en ettachmenL although no actbn is needetl on <br />the easement at this time. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There Is no flnancldl Impact In slgnln9 the option agreement. This <br />option tloes not indutle a monetary trensactien, antl simply enables the State to encumber <br />funtls for the project and proceed to tliscuss easement language. The grenting of [he <br />wnservation easement (tope consitleretl at a later tlate) will preclude incompatible activities <br />within the steam easement antl require Net new vegetation forthe stream restoration is left <br />untlislurbetl. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Managerrecommentls that the Beaty authoraze the Chelr io <br />sign [he option agreement, pending further review antl claraflcetion of language by the County <br />Attomey end County Manager. Once the opflon agreement is signetl by bath parties, the <br />project design will be completetl and the mnsenatbn easement (Including design) will be <br />presentetl for the Board's coneideretiom probably In early 2002. Construction antl planting of <br />the stream restomtion project would begin after the easement is completed. <br />
