She highlighted the Pauli Murray Awards, which will be held <br /> virtually on February 28t" at 3 p.m. She also highlighted the Orange County BIPOC Elected <br /> Officials month-long event of"Black History Legends — Orange County Style," which will <br /> feature local figures in the community. She said, in addition, there will be a racial equity 21-day <br /> challenge for Orange County employees to challenge themselves to learn about racial equity <br /> and what is going on in the community. She said this is a good start to learning about black <br /> history. <br /> 5. Public Hearings <br /> a. Review of Zoning Atlas Amendment: NC Highway 57 Speedway Rural Economic <br /> Development Area (REDA-CZ-1) — Rougemont Self Storage <br /> The Board considered holding a public hearing, receiving the Planning Board/staff <br /> recommendation and public comment, closing the public hearing, and considered action on an <br /> applicant initiated Zoning Atlas Amendment for a parcel within the Little River Township of the <br /> County. Specifically, Darrell Chandler of Rougemont Storage Center, LLC, is seeking to rezone <br /> approximately 7.37 acres of a parcel at 8927 Mile Branch Road to NC Highway 57 Speedway <br /> Rural Economic Development Area (REDA-CZ-1). Approval of the zoning atlas amendment will <br /> allow for the expansion of the existing self-storage business. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Staff has processed a zoning atlas amendment application proposing to rezone a 7.37 acre <br /> portion of a 21.54 acre parcel, further identified using Orange County Parcel Identification <br /> Number (PIN) 0910-23-7159 (hereafter `the Property'): <br /> FROM: Agricultural Residential (AR); NC Highway 57 Speedway Rural Economic <br /> Development Area (REDA-CZ-1); Flat River Protected Watershed Protection Overlay District; <br /> and Little River Protected Watershed Protection Overlay District <br /> TO: NC Highway 57 Speedway Rural Economic Development Area (REDA-CZ-1); Flat <br /> River Protected Watershed Protection Overlay District; and Little River Protected Watershed <br /> Protection Overlay District <br />
