Property Tax Releases/Refunds <br /> 5 The Board adopted a resolution, which is incorporated by reference, to release property tax <br /> 6 values for four taxpayers with a total of ten bills that will result in a reduction of revenue. <br /> 7 d. Applications for Property Tax Exemption/Exclusion <br /> 8 The Board approved four untimely applications for exemption/exclusion from ad valorem <br /> 9 taxation for four bills for the 2020 tax year. <br /> 10 e. Voluntary Agricultural District Designation — Multiple Farms <br /> 11 The Board approved applications from ten landowners/farms to certify qualifying farmland within <br /> 12 the Caldwell, Cane Creek/Buckhorn, Cedar Grove, and Schley/Eno Voluntary Agricultural <br /> 13 Districts; and enroll the lands in the Orange County Farmland Preservation Program's Voluntary <br /> 14 Agricultural District program. <br /> 15 f. Fiscal Year 2020-21 Budget Amendment#7 <br /> 16 The Board approved budget and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2020-21 <br /> 17 for the Department of Social Services; Criminal Justice Resource Department; Housing and <br /> 18 Community Development; and the Health Department. <br /> 19 g. Approval of Land Transfer from Chatham County to Orange County <br /> 20 The Board approved a resolution regarding the transfer of 4.6 acres of land from Chatham <br /> 21 County to Orange County. <br /> 22 h. Public Comment Submission to the NC Utilities Commission on Duke Energy's 2020 <br /> 23 Integrated Resource Plan <br /> 24 The Board authorized the Chair to sign a letter created in collaboration with several other NC <br /> 25 local governments with recommendations for Duke Energy's 2020 Integrated Resource Plan, <br /> 26 and directing staff to join with other local governments in submitting a single copy of the letter <br /> 27 signed by all interested local governments to the NC Utilities Commission during the period for <br /> 28 initial public comments. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 9. County Manager's Report <br /> 31 Bonnie Hammersley said the BOCC will have a work session on February 9, including <br /> 32 advisory board appointments, which will be first to allow for plenty of time for discussion. She <br /> 33 said John Roberts will present information on the discharge of firearms, and the Sheriff will be <br /> 34 available for discussion on housing federal inmates in the county jail and for written consent for <br /> 35 vehicle searches. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> 38 John Roberts reminded the Board that the legislature is back in session, and he will <br /> 39 update the Commissioners weekly on items. <br /> 40 Chair Price briefly reflected back to item 8-a consent agenda, as there were changes <br /> 41 sent by email to the minutes for December 7 and December 15, 2020. The changes were: <br /> 42 reorganize the proclamations for former Chair Penny Rich and former Commissioner Mark <br /> 43 Marcopolos on pages 2 and 3 of the December 7th minutes; correct the name of OWASA board <br /> 44 representative Ray DuBose on page 7, lines 27 and 42 of the December 7th minutes; note that <br /> 45 Janine Zanin is a resident of Efland, not Mebane, on page 3, line 2 of the December 15th <br /> 46 minutes; and change the word "ward" to "award" on page 4, line 4 of the December 151h <br /> 47 minutes.
