Discuss as appropriate. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Commissioner Fowler said the suitability criteria do not seem to sway opinion, and asked <br /> 8 if this is correct. <br /> 9 Tom Altieri said there are areas with small lot residential developments, which are <br /> 10 identified as needing additional buffering. <br /> 11 Commissioner Fowler said Preston Loop was previously in the Mebane plan, and asked <br /> 12 if it has been taken out. <br /> 13 Tom Altieri said yes. <br /> 14 Commissioner Fowler asked if there is a reason why this action was taken. <br /> 15 Cy Stober, City of Mebane Development Director, said Preston Loop was omitted at the <br /> 16 request of residents and property owners. He said the Town Council directed staff to omit those <br /> 17 properties. <br /> 18 Commissioner Greene said including areas B, C, and D, would be breaking the Water <br /> 19 and Sewer Management Planning and Boundary Agreement (WASMPBA). She said the public <br /> 20 input meeting was held after the Planning meeting, and Orange County commissioners did not <br /> 21 have a chance to hear about the plan. She said the reasons for not including some of the areas <br /> 22 are compelling. She said there is a lot to discuss and she looks forward to meeting with <br /> 23 Mebane. She said the new line that Mebane is drawing near Squires Road and Medline is <br /> 24 logical. She said if the area were expanded to include B, C, and D, Gravely Hill Middle School <br /> 25 would be included, and this is the lowest wealth part of the County. She said she has concerns <br /> 26 about doing this, and there are a lot of problems with going below West Ten Road. <br /> 27 Commissioner McKee said he wanted to see the B, C, and D expansion areas blown up <br /> 28 with parcels. He said there are larger parcels on the south side of west ten, and asked if the <br /> 29 number of large parcels within these three segments is known. <br />
