Orange County was selected to <br /> participate in the program. <br /> Oc1M Much of the housing, especially in rural Orange County <br /> Orange was dilapidated and needed repairs. Some homes needed to <br /> Congregations be demolished. Many of them were without running water <br /> In Mission and indoor plumbing. When the project was <br /> 300 Millstone Drive complete,families were able to live more comfortably. <br /> Old Mill Business Park Because of the improvements,the county's tax base grew. <br /> Hillsborough, N.C. 27278 <br /> One of the families that Bonnie directly worked with on the <br /> (919)732-6126 HousingDemonstration project is still living and thriving in <br /> Fax {919)644-1126 p � g g <br /> rural Orange County. They have never forgotten the <br /> www.ocimnc.org impact the extension service or Bonnie had on their family. <br /> On another note, Bonnie served on the Board of Directors of <br /> Orange Congregations In Mission. She was instrumental in <br /> recruiting diverse, interfaith congregations to make up our <br /> ministry. She was a strong believer in community <br /> organizations and faith communities sitting down at the <br /> table with local governments where decisions were <br /> made. She made sure that a diverse group of <br /> rural and town folk were involved. She encouraged OCIM <br /> membership to get involved in the community and to <br /> actively serve on volunteer boards. <br /> When OCIM outgrew its 3500 square foot building, Bonnie <br /> Davis was named the Building Committee chairperson.
