Protect and grow jobs as the <br /> travel and tourism industry rebounds. <br /> In 2021 the Visitors Bureau will use every resource, program, and collaborative <br /> partnership to rebuild the hospitality industry of Orange County and help our <br /> restaurants, retailers, hotels, performance venues and farms recover. <br /> What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br /> upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the <br /> Commissioners' attention? <br /> Orange County's hospitality industry has been devastated by COVID 19. The <br /> Visitors Bureau stands prepared to rebuild the hospitality community through <br /> collaboration with partners. Each week the Bureau promotes area <br /> restauranteurs, shop owners, banquet and catering facilities and <br /> accommodations businesses located in Orange County. Zoom meetings and <br /> conversations remain central to the ongoing works of the Visitors Bureau. <br /> Job loss has been distressing. <br /> It was estimated that half of hospitality's jobs were lost immediately, and as of <br /> January 2021, there are still one-third fewer people employed in these positions. <br />
