38
consider the available resources for the programs being offered. He said the Board needs to be
working towards action steps.
Bonnie Hammersley said Commissioner Dorosin's suggestion would be helpful to staff.
She said if there are the things the Board would like for staff to do, staff can begin working
through it.
Commissioner Fowler agreed with Commissioner Dorosin's comments. She said the
Board needs to develop a strategic plan to make long-term decisions, which would be a year-
long process to gather input from stakeholders.
Maggie Chotas reviewed the conversation: What is the framework now, what needs to
be dialed up, what needs to be dial back, to have depth, to address long-term goals, for more
information on disrupting racism. She suggested that gathering information on disrupting racism
could be an action step.
Commissioner Dorosin said an example is that the eviction diversion program is working
well, and address the high priority of housing need. He said he would like to continue this
program, and if adding more resources would serve more people, or cover greater costs, then
more funding should be allocated.
Bonnie Hammersley said Commissioner Dorosin's example is helpful as she can add
this type of change in when creating the recommended budget. She said staff can also pre
gather any necessary information to help move the budget process along more effectively.
Commissioner Greene said she wanted to make sure that disrupting racism is part of
everything the County does.
Commissioner Greene said the Partnership to End Homelessness (PTEH) has identified
gaps that need to be filled, and doing so is directly in line with addressing the housing dilemma.
She said COVID funding provided for street outreach and diversion program last year, which
was PTEH's priority number one. She said progress needs to continue on addressing PTEH's
list of priorities.
Maggie Chotas reviewed the notes on Jamboard:
Jexcvreon I L (1 Q ' m
a c . ..w,eMa eene.ru
u
Priorities of the priorities
What is working- More Longer term
what to keep information
Desired priorities needed
r
Eviction diversion
© program
o Partnership to End
e Homelessness--
p. implement their plans
%d
S
Commissioner Greene emphasized that there are specific things the Board can do to
end homelessness, such as addressing housing.
Commissioner Hamilton requested a list of all of the programs that the County offers, to
be more effective in conversations. She said she would like to know which programs are
discretionary, structural and cyclical. She said it would also be helpful to have any informative
statistics. She said she it is difficult to make decisions without this type of information.
