<br />Mrs. B, B. Forrest, Chairman of the County Planning and Zoing Board, submitted a report concerning
<br />the activity of this comma-tee since At was organized by the Board of Commissioners.
<br />Vernon Burch of Chapel fill was administered the oath of constable by Chairmm Stanford.
<br />A letter from Walter G. l?reran, Civil Defense Director, concerning the appointment of crs. Quentin
<br />Patterson as Assistant Civil Defense Director, and Ralph H. Boatman, as Chief of Radiological Service,
<br />vras read by Chairman Stanford.
<br />Upon motion of Commissioners Jones, seconded by Comnissf oner SCDade, and unanimously adopted Lire.
<br />Patterson was named Assistant Civil Defense Director. The appointment of i..r. Bostman was deferred
<br />until this matter could be discussed vtith Cr. Ylrenn,
<br />The County Accountant brought to the attention of the Board a matter concerning the overpayment
<br />of taxes of several citizens. Unon motion of Commissioner ?,al er, seconded by Commissioner Jones,
<br />and unanimously adopted the County Accountant was authorized to pay to Sr. J, R. Faulk `'7.72 as
<br />oveipyment of his taxes, and to pay yr, ?,, c, Laming )116.30 the amount due hir for the double
<br />listing of his taxes, Part of e r. Lansing's payment could not be returned because of the time
<br />element.
<br />'halter Lrenn appeared before the Board and explained to them the duties of dry. Bostman as
<br />Chief of Radiological service in connection with the Civil Defense appoinv:ent. Upon motion of
<br />Comaissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner dallrer, and unanimousiy adopted wr, Boatman vras
<br />appointed as Chief of Radiological Services.
