Agency's Purpose/Mission(no more than a few sentences): <br /> The mission of the Orange County Partnership for Young Children (OCPYC) is to ensure <br /> that all young children arrive at school healthy and ready to succeed. We focus on the early <br /> years of a child's life from birth to age five, which is the most critical time in a child's <br /> development. Our program priorities focus on the county's most vulnerable families and <br /> children. <br /> 3, Please provide a brief description of your organization's past achievements in carrying out similar <br /> projects and evidence of successful record of meeting proposed budgets and timetables(no more than <br /> 100 words). <br /> OCPYC manages programs having a variety of funding sources, including federal, state, <br /> and private grants, for which budget management and timely implementation of program <br /> activities are imperative. As the county administrator for Smart Start and NC PreK, OCPYC <br /> manages compliance, site monitoring, technical assistance, site payments, and reporting. <br /> As a past grantee of Human Services funding, OCPYC has met its objectives and budget <br /> requirements each year it has been awarded funding. OCPYC implements multiple literacy <br /> programs, including Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Reach Out and Read, and is hosting <br /> the Orange County Campaign for Grade Level Reading—each with different program and <br /> budget demands. <br /> 4.
