Article 10: Definitions 301 <br /> Section 10.1: Definitions <br /> General I IcoConventional Zoning District154 <br /> The various zoning districts contained in Article 3 of this Ordinance that are not Conditional Districts. <br /> Conditions cannot be applied to geReraraseconventional zeRing districts. <br /> Converted Paper Product Manufacturing, Assembly, and Processing <br /> Land uses involved with the converting of paper or paperboard into finished products. Use does not <br /> involve the actual manufacturing of paper or paperboard material on-site. <br /> Cooperative Farm Partner <br /> A local farmer or producer of agricultural products who forms a business arrangement with other local <br /> farmers and/or producers to collectively process, market, and/or sell agricultural goods. For the purpose <br /> of this definition, "local" means Orange County and counties that share a border with Orange County. <br /> Cooperative Farm Stand <br /> An open-air facility for the retail sale of produce, agricultural products, and/or plants produced on-site and <br /> from not more than 4 other cooperative farm partners. <br /> Country Store <br /> An enclosed market not exceeding 1500 square feet in size for the retail sales of a variety of <br /> merchandise, which must include locally produced products. For the purpose of this definition, "local" <br /> means Orange County and counties that share a border with Orange County. <br /> County <br /> Orange County Government. <br /> Custodial Care <br /> A form of care that is primarily for the purpose of assisting a person in the activities of daily living or in <br /> meeting personal rather than medical needs, which is not intended to provide specific therapy as the <br /> result of an illness or injury and does not constitute skilled care. The term shall refer to personal care that <br /> does not require the continuing attention or supervision of trained, medical, or paramedical personnel. <br /> Cutoff Fixture <br /> An outdoor lighting fixture shielded or constructed in such a manner that no more 2.5% of the total light <br /> emitted by the fixture is projected above the horizontal plane of the fixture. <br /> Day Care <br /> Any child care arrangement under which a child less than 13 years of age receives care away from his <br /> own home by persons other than his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters who are <br /> not minors, guardians or full time custodians. <br /> Day Care Facility <br /> Any day care center or child care arrangement that provides day care for more than five children, not <br /> including the operator's school age children, under the age of 13, on a regular basis of at least once per <br /> week for more than four hours but less than 24 hours per day, and those operating fewer than four hours <br /> per day that provide care for more children per adult care giver than would be permitted in an AA State <br /> licensed center, regardless of the time of day and regardless of whether the same children attend <br /> regularly. <br /> The following facilities are not included: <br /> a) Public schools; <br /> b) Non-public schools whether or not accredited by the State Department of Public Instruction, <br /> which regularly and exclusively provide a course of grade school instruction to children who are of <br /> public school age; <br /> c) Summer camps having children in full-time residence; <br /> d) Bible schools conducted for no more than three weeks during vacation periods; and <br /> 154 The standard term has been changed in NCGS 160D-703. <br /> Orange County, North Carolina—Unified Development Ordinance Page 10-9 <br />
