Attachment 2 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 MINUTES <br /> 2 ORANGE COUNTY <br /> 3 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> 4 VIRTUAL BUSINESS MEETING <br /> 5 JANUARY 19, 2021 <br /> 6 7:00 p.m. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Virtual Special Meeting on Tuesday, <br /> 9 January 19, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Renee Price, Vice Chair Jamezetta Bedford, <br /> 12 and Commissioners Amy Fowler, Jean Hamilton, Mark Dorosin, Sally Greene, and Earl <br /> 13 McKee <br /> 14 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: NONE <br /> 15 COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> 16 COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> 17 Travis Myren, and Clerk to the Board Laura Jensen. (All other staff members will be identified <br /> 18 appropriately below) <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Chair Price called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 21 Chair Price said Governor Cooper declared today as a day of remembrance of those <br /> 22 that have died due to Covid-19, and the County will join the State by keeping the lights on this <br /> 23 evening. <br /> 24 Chair Price introduced Laura Jensen, the new Clerk to the Board. <br /> 25 Bonnie Hammersley read a biography for Laura Jensen, and welcomed her to Orange <br /> 26 County. <br /> 27 Laura Jensen expressed excitement for this new opportunity. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Roll call ensued; all members were present. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Due to current public health concerns, the Board of Commissioners (BOCC) is conducting a <br /> 32 Virtual Business Meeting on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Members of the Board of <br /> 33 Commissioners participated in the meeting remotely. As in prior meetings, members of the <br /> 34 public were able to view and listen to the meeting via live streaming video at <br /> 35 http://www.orangecountync.gov/967/Meeting-Videos and on Orange County Gov-TV on <br /> 36 channels 1301 or 97.6 (Spectrum Cable). <br /> 37 <br /> 38 In this new virtual process, there are two methods for public comment. <br /> 39 • Written submittals by email <br /> 40 • Speaking during the virtual meeting <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Detailed public comment instructions for each method are provided at the bottom of this <br /> 43 agenda. (Pre-registration is required.) <br /> 44 <br /> 45 1.
