These Special Requirements are particular to the Work of this <br /> Project and are intended to inform the Contractor of non-standard conditions affecting the Work of the <br /> Contract. <br /> ARTICLE 1—QUALIFICATION OF PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT <br /> The Contractor shall be required to demonstrate his capability to provide a qualified project <br /> superintendent for the project who is acceptable to the Owner and Architect. The project superintendent <br /> shall have at least five years of successful experience on projects of similar size, scope and nature. <br /> Contractor shall be required to substantiate these qualifications with a written submittal within seven <br /> calendar days after opening of the Bids. The Contractor is charged with providing a qualified and <br /> experienced superintendent for this project to the satisfaction of the Owner and Architect. The Owner <br /> reserves the right to disapprove a proposed superintendent who does not appear to be fully qualified and <br /> experienced to accomplish the work of this project. <br /> ARTICLE 2—SINGLE PRIME AND SEPARATE PRIME CONTRACT BIDS <br /> Bids will be received for Single Prime Contracts only. Opening of Bids, as it relates to the number of bids <br /> required to allow opening, and award of Contracts,as it relates to low bid and the number of bids required <br /> to allow award, shall be governed by the guidelines and procedures recommended by the State <br /> Department of Construction of the N.C. Department of Administration for bid openings for single prime <br /> informal contract bids. <br /> Those Bidders submitting Single Prime Contract bids shall be aware that all work of the project is <br /> included in the Work of a Single Prime Contractor,regardless of the divisions of work indicated on the <br /> Drawings and in the Project Manual. All references and indications in the Drawings and the Project <br /> Manual to Separate Prime Contracts shall apply to the Single Prime Contract. <br /> Single Prime Contract Bidders must include the names of their major subcontractors on the Proposal form <br /> as indicated,to include Plumbing and Electrical. <br /> All Allowances identified shall all be included in the Single Prime Contract Bid. <br /> ARTICLE 3—COORDINATION AND COOPERATION WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS <br /> Prime Contractor shall be aware that the Owner has or may engage other contractors to accomplish work <br /> concurrently with the Work of this project,which will have a direct effect on the accomplishment of the <br /> Work of this project. Contractors will be required to cooperate and coordinate with these other contractors <br /> during the course of the project to avoid delays in the work of this project of that of the other contractors. <br /> ARTICLE 4—RESERVED <br /> ARTICLE 5—RESERVED <br /> Special Conditions 009010 - 1 <br />
