Provide other waterproofing system accessories not specifically listed,but require fort e proper <br /> and complete installation of the system. <br /> 2.2 MISCELLANEOUS REPAIR MATERIALS <br /> A. Repair Mortar: Provide a polymer-modified, fast-setting Portland cement repair mortar that is <br /> supplied in a factory-proportioned unit and can be used on vertical masonry surfaces. Product <br /> shall be capable of stopping pressure leakage of water and shall have a rapid set time. Basis of <br /> design, SikaSet Plug, or approved equal. <br /> B. Backfill material: Refer to applicable sections of the technical specifications for information <br /> regarding backfill activities and required materials. <br /> C. Joint Sealant: Refer to applicable sections of the technical specifications for information regarding <br /> replacement of existing joint sealants or installation of new joint sealants that do not form an integral <br /> part of the waterproofing system. <br /> D. Provide other repair materials and accessories not specifically listed,but required for the proper <br /> and complete installation of the work. <br /> PART 3 -EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 EXCAVATION, INSPECTION,AND SURFACE PREPARATION <br /> A. Excavation of existing soil from existing grade down to the top of the foundation wall footing is <br /> required to allow for new waterproofing system installation. Final excavation directly adjacent <br /> to the wall should be performed using hand tools to provide safe and proper access to the substrate <br /> to be waterproofed without damage to the existing masonry wall or adjacent site features. <br /> B. At areas with existing waterproofing/damproofing, remove existing loose and delaminated <br /> materials and dispose of off-site. <br /> C. Inspect and clean the surface of the exposed brick masonry foundation wall and top of the footing. <br /> Use of wire brushes,vacuuming/scraping, and other cleaning methods shall be used as needed to <br /> remove loose materials,residue,dirt and debris from the masonry surface to provide the substrate <br /> condition required for application of the new waterproofing. If recommended by the <br /> waterproofing manufacturer based on the surface conditions beneath existing waterproofing and <br /> at masonry where no waterproofing/damproofing was originally applied, utilize cementitious <br /> parge coat. If holes/damages to the brick are discovered below grade, infill holes with repair <br /> mortar prior to installation of parge coat and waterproofing system. <br /> D. Mix parging material in strict accordance with the requirements of the material manufacturer.Do <br /> not exceed the recommended water content/ratio during mixing. Trowel apply the parging <br /> material to the masonry surface in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and to obtain <br /> a smooth,even surface acceptable for application of the specified sheet waterproofing membrane <br /> without fins, projections, or voids.
