This servlce places <br />a treined aitle in [he home of a hail oltler adult in order to relieve the cereglver who is usually a <br />family member. The average albcation MService la eix hours per week. <br />The Department's Fiscal Veer 2002 butlget includes more than $96.000 to be used for this <br />puryoae. Approximately $80,000 of this amount is provided by Me State Division of Aging <br />which reimburses 90Yo of the cast of providing the servlce. It will be used to purchase mom <br />Nan ],300 hours of respite service for approximately 40 persons. <br />In order tc maintain [he flexibilM1y necessary for successful service tlelivery, the County has <br />found it prutlent to use several provitlers ceMirgen[ upon their availabiliy. Therefore, the BoaN <br />is being requested to authorize [he Manager ro sign agreements with three service provitler <br />agencies. They are: <br />Assistant Care Provitlers <br />Care FOpus <br />Home Health Solutions <br />The County will continue to contract with qualihetl service provitlere pursuant to both Stale- <br />mantlatetl requirements and the crReda established by the County. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for the purchase of this service is included in the current <br />approved Depenment on Aging butlget. The service cost will nM exceetl $13. W per aide hour. <br />
