Appointment of the Clerk to the Board <br /> 4 The Board approved an employment agreement and appoint Laura Jensen Clerk to the Board <br /> 5 of County Commissioners. <br /> 6 m. Approval of Boards and Commissions Assignments <br /> 7 The Board approved the 2021 Boards and Commissions assignments for members of the Board <br /> 8 of Commissioners based on selections made by Board members at the December 7, 2020 <br /> 9 Business meeting. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 A motion was made by Commissioner Greene, seconded by Commissioner McKee to <br /> 12 approve the consent agenda. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Roll call ensued <br /> 15 <br /> 16 VOTE: UNANMIOUS <br /> 17 <br /> 18 9. County Manager's Report <br /> 19 Bonnie Hammersley said the consent agenda included a budget amendment, and the <br /> 20 CARES act funds have been distributed through many budget amendments. She said these <br /> 21 $5.5 million need to be expended by December 31, and this will happen. She said $2.3 million <br /> 22 has gone to the Towns, which was reissued back to the County to help with housing. She said <br /> 23 these funds were needed, and helped County residents greatly. <br /> 24 Bonnie Hammersley said there is an information item about the Buckhorn Area Plan, <br /> 25 and County staff is in touch with Mebane Staff. She said there will be a report after the Board <br /> 26 has concluded the Efland Station matter. <br /> 27 Commissioner Greene said there is concern about the lack of involvement by the <br /> 28 BOCC in the Buckhorn Area Plan. She said it must be a priority to meet with the Mebane City <br /> 29 Council, and echoed Chair Price's desire to make this happen. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> 32 John Roberts said a non-discrimination ordinance will be an agenda item at the January <br /> 33 19 Business Meeting. He said an organization called NC Values Coalition is seeking support <br /> 34 from the General Assembly to squash efforts of local governments regarding non-discrimination. <br /> 35 He said he has heard from this organization, and will forward the information to the BOCC <br /> 36 <br /> 37 11. *Appointments <br /> 38 None <br /> 39 <br /> 40 12.
