7 1 ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 2 PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING AND EXPRESSING GRATITUDE TO 3 DAVID HUNT, 4 RETIRING DEPUTY CLERK/INFORMATION SPECIALIST 5 6 WHEREAS, David Hunt, after working in the private sector for multiple years, joined the 7 Clerk to the Orange County Board of Commissioners Office in 2003; and 8 WHEREAS, during his early years with Orange County, Mr. Hunt managed Orange 9 County's public information efforts by developing press releases, drafting public hearing 10 notices, monitoring and updating the County website, and compiling multiple materials to inform 11 the public of County activities and projects; and 12 WHEREAS, David has become a trusted resource in the Clerk's Office serving the Board of 13 Commissioners and staff Countywide, including developing a substantial bank of photographs 14 utilized by County Departments and others to highlight services and promote events associated 15 with Orange County; and 16 WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt has also over the years served as a valuable contributor serving 17 the needs of the public at the Emergency Operations Center during weather and other 18 hazardous events; and 19 WHEREAS, more recently, David became the point person for the Board of 20 Commissioners and multiple County staff for conducting virtual meetings, and has served as the 21 principal County contact for organizing Board of Commissioners' meetings virtually, as well as 22 interacting and coordinating with presenters, members of the public wishing to speak, and 23 others involved; and 24 WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt is retiring from Orange County on December 31, 2020, after over 25 17 years in service to the County and its residents, and will be missed; 26 NOW THEREFORE, we, the Orange County Board of Commissioners, do hereby 27 recognize and express deep appreciation and respect for the services rendered by David Hunt 28 to the Orange County community, and wish him well in his retirement. 29 This the 15th day of December 2020. 30 31 Renee Price, Chair 32 Orange County Board of Commissioners 33 34 A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Dorosin to approve 35 the resolution. 36 37 Roll call ensued 38 39 VOTE: UNANIMOUS 40 41 c.
