3 <br /> Department on Aging— Master Aging Plan Project($25,000) - Project# 71099 <br /> Revenues for this project: <br /> Current Budget FY 2020-21 FY 2020-21 <br /> FY 2020-21 Amendment Revised <br /> Budget <br /> Carol Woods Donations $427,411 $25,000 $452,411 <br /> Total Project Funding $427,411 $25,000 $452,411 <br /> Appropriated for this project: <br /> Current Budget FY 2020-21 FY 2020-21 <br /> FY 2020-21 Amendment Revised <br /> Budget <br /> Master Aging Plan Initiatives $427,411 $25,000 $452,411 <br /> Total Costs $427,411 $25,000 $452,411 <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br /> gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Housing and Community Development <br /> 5. The Department of Housing and Community Development has received notification from <br /> the Town of Carrboro that it has been awarded a $900,000 CDBG-CV from the State. The <br /> grant was written to designate Orange County as the administrator of these funds to <br /> continue the work of the County's Emergency Housing Assistance program. The grant <br /> period runs through June 30, 2023. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br /> these funds from the Town of Carrboro for the above stated purpose within the Community <br /> Development Fund and approves the creation of a 1.0 FTE Time-limited Emergency <br /> Housing Assistance Specialist position through June 30, 2023 to assist in administering <br /> the grant. (See Attachment 1, column #4) <br /> 6. The Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness Program has received notification <br /> of a $40,730 Emergency Solutions Grant award from the North Carolina Department of <br /> Health and Human Services, Division of Aging and Adult Services. This is a reimbursable <br /> grant with the service period of January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. These funds <br /> will be used to address the needs of the vulnerable homeless population in Orange <br /> County. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds within the <br /> Community Development Fund. (See Attachment 1, column #5) <br /> 7. Orange County Housing and Community Development has received additional funds of <br /> $100,000 in federal pass-through Coronavirus Relief Funds/CARES Act grant funds from <br /> the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to strategically respond to <br /> the COVID-19 pandemic response. This funding represents additional funding from the <br /> $195,000 in grant funds awarded and approved by the BOCC at its November 5, 2020 <br /> meeting.
