Reports <br /> a. Update from the Orange County Food Council <br /> The Board received an update from the Food Council about activities in the 2020-2021 <br /> fiscal year and a preliminary report on the state of food insecurity during the COVID-19 <br /> pandemic. <br /> Ashley Heger, Food Council Coordinator, reviewed the item below: <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Food Council Coordinator was hired in July 2019. This new Coordinator position was <br /> approved through an interlocal agreement process and is jointly funded by Orange County, <br /> Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Carrboro. The Coordinator is charged with coordinating the Food <br /> Council and helping it achieve its goals. This presentation will provide an update of the <br /> Coordinator's work and progress since July 2019 plus an overview of the Food Council's actions <br /> and plans in the 2020 - 2021 fiscal year. The Coordinator will also be providing an update about <br /> food insecurity in the County during the Covid19 pandemic.
