4 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br /> 3 Members are appointed by the Board of Commissioners to all positions. The Regional <br /> 4 Ombudsman assigned to Orange County is Autumn Cox who works for Triangle J Council of <br /> 5 Government (TJCOG). Prior to any appointment, Autumn Cox vets applicants. If a qualified <br /> 6 applicant is selected, that individual must attend state mandated training and must pass the <br /> 7 course before being recommended for appointment. There is an initial one-year training term, <br /> 8 with subsequent eligibility for three additional two-year terms. The Committee works to maintain <br /> 9 the intent of the Adult Care Home Residents' Bill of Rights for those residing in licensed adult <br /> 10 care homes. The members of this Committee also promote community involvement and <br /> 11 cooperation with these homes to ensure quality care for the elderly and disabled adults. The <br /> 12 members of this committee make visits to facilities no less than annually. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br /> 15 Members are appointed by the Board of Commissioners to all positions. The members of this committee make visits to facilities no <br /> 23 less than quarterly. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 After completion of the visits, the team members of both committees prepare a state report of <br /> 26 their findings during the visit. The report is then presented at the regular committee business <br /> 27 meetings. The report is discussed and a vote is taken to gain approval of the report. The <br /> 28 Ombudsman then formats the report for submission to the particular county.
