Orange County Board of Adjustment—Appointment Discussion <br /> 5 <br /> 6 BACKGROUND: <br /> 7 The following appointment information is for Board consideration: <br /> 8 <br /> 9 NAME SPECIAL TYPE OF EXPIRATION <br /> 10 REPRESENTATIVE APPOINTMENT DATE <br /> 11 TERM <br /> 12 Samantha At-Large Second Full Term 0613012C22 <br /> 13 Cabe <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Commissioner Bedford said she reached out to the County Attorney about a conflict of <br /> 16 interest for Judge Cabe. She said appeals from this board of adjustment would never go to <br /> 17 district court, but rather to superior court, and so there is no conflict; however, the BOCC just <br /> 18 passed a policy not to appoint elected officials. <br /> 19 Commissioner Dorosin said the BOCC should honor that policy, and there is an <br /> 20 appointed alternate that could sit while the position of re-advertised. <br /> 21 Commissioner Price agreed. <br /> 22 Commissioner Bedford said she admired Judge Cabe, and this is about the policy, not <br /> 23 her. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 The Board agreed by consensus to decline this appointment. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 11.
