1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: December 7, 2020 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-1 <br /> SUBJECT: Board of Equalization and Review <br /> DEPARTMENT: Tax, County Attorney <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Nancy Freeman, Tax Administrator, 245- <br /> 2735 <br /> John Roberts, County Attorney, 245- <br /> 2318 <br /> PURPOSE: To remove one member of the Board of Equalization and Review. <br /> BACKGROUND: This item was brought to the County Attorney's attention by a staff attorney and staff in <br /> the tax department. <br /> It is recommended one member, Ms. Pamela Davis, be removed from the Board of Equalization and <br /> Review. There remains only one meeting of this board, currently scheduled for February 2021 before a <br /> new board is appointed to serve. In the interim, the Board of County Commissioners may appoint Hunter <br /> Beattie to serve as Chair for the final meeting. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this declaration. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no environmental impact associated with this declaration. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no social justice impact associated with this declaration. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Chair recommends the Board remove Ms. Pamela Davis from the Board <br /> of Equalization and Review and appoint Hunter Beattie to serve as Chair of the Board of Equalization <br /> and Review until such time as a new board is appointed. <br />
