There was insufficient time tluring the June 2001 <br />butlge[ work sessions to atltlress all BOCC questions regaMing some of these proposed <br />recycling programs. Funtlinq torthe programs was included in the 2001-02 operating budget <br />epprovetl by the BOCO, but progrem implementalipn and the creation of a remmmentletl new <br />permanent position were delayed gentling further BOCG tliscussion at a solitl waste work <br />session <br />These programs are assembletl'mro a single proposal package primarily tlue to the <br />recommended-shared staffing arrangement. A single Recycling Materiels Hantller posRion <br />would provide the labor for all three wmponents of the recycling proposal. The three programs <br />proposed ere: <br />• Governmental Bulltlinq Recycling Program-This program would coneolidata. under Solid <br />Waste Department operations, services provitled by a combination of publirJprivate antl <br />governmenVcontrect service providers. Governmental builtlings in all jurisdictions are <br />nvolved. <br />• Dry Gell Bakery Recycling-This program woultl further County goals of reducing toxicity of <br />the local waste stream. Bakeries woultl be collectetl a convenience centere, at wopereting <br />stores where bakeries are solo antl inwrpomted info local curbside collection services. <br />
