42 <br /> 1 iii. The primary propulsion engine of a vehicle meets all of the following <br /> 2 criteria: <br /> 3 1. Is providing a power source necessary for mechanical <br /> 4 operations other than propulsion; and; <br /> 5 2. Involves a power take off (PTO) mechanism, or other <br /> 6 mechanical device performing the same function as a PTO; and <br /> 7 3. Is powered by the engine for: <br /> 8 a. Loading and unloading cargo, or <br /> 9 b. Mixing or processing cargo, or <br /> 10 c. Controlling cargo temperature, or <br /> 11 d. Providing a mechanical extension to perform work <br /> 12 functions. <br /> 13 iv. The primary propulsion engine of a vehicle is being operated at idle to <br /> 14 conform to manufacturer's warm up and cool down specifications, for <br /> 15 maintenance or diagnostic purposes, or by manufacturers engaging the <br /> 16 engines in testing for research and development. <br /> 17 V. The primary propulsion engine of a vehicle is being operated to supply <br /> 18 heat or air conditioning necessary for passenger comfort/safety in those <br /> 19 vehicles operating for commercial passenger transportation or school <br /> 20 purposes up to a maximum of 30 minutes/hour. If ambient temperatures <br /> 21 exceed 75 degrees Fahrenheit, passenger buses are allowed to idle up <br /> 22 to a maximum of 60 minutes in any 90-minute time period. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT this ordinance be placed in the book of published <br /> 25 ordinances and that this ordinance is effective upon its adoption. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Upon motion of Commissioner seconded by Commissioner <br /> 28 , the foregoing ordinance was adopted this day of <br /> 29 , 2020. <br /> 30 I, Greg Wilder, Interim Clerk to the Board of Commissioners for Orange County, DO <br /> 31 HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is a true copy of so much of the proceedings of said <br /> 32 Board at a meeting held on , 2020 as relates in any way to the <br /> 33 adoption of the foregoing and that said proceedings are recorded in the minutes of the said <br /> 34 Board. <br /> 35 WITNESS my hand and the seal of said County, this day of <br /> 36 2020. <br /> 37 <br />
