31 <br /> 1 i. Each transit stop shall be a covered and enclosed on 3 sides to shield users <br /> 2 from the elements, <br /> 3 ii. Kiosks shall be developed to provide transit information, including schedule <br /> 4 and route information, and shall be illuminated to five (5) average <br /> 5 maintained foot-candles. <br /> 6 n. In addition to the standards contained within Section 6.10 (A) (2) of the UDO, the <br /> 7 following additional requirements shall apply to the development of crosswalks: <br /> 8 i. Signals shall be installed, where stoplights are located, providing <br /> 9 assistance to deaf and visually impaired individuals announcing when it is <br /> 10 safe to cross roadways <br /> 11 o. Traffic directional signage shall be required for all internal and external roadway <br /> 12 as directed by Orange County and the North Carolina Department of <br /> 13 Transportation including but not limited to: <br /> 14 i. Stop signs, <br /> 15 ii. Yield signs, <br /> 16 iii. Bus parking and unloading informational signs <br /> 17 iv. Lane ends, <br /> 18 v. Merge signs, <br /> 19 vi. Caution Pedestrian Traffic—Yield Signs, <br /> 20 vii. Traffic safety signs designed to direct construction traffic throughout the <br /> 21 site, <br /> 22 viii. Traffic warning signs indicating the location of private driveways and <br /> 23 forbidding public access to the various properties, and <br /> 24 ix. Through traffic signs. <br /> 25 V. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: <br /> 26 a. The Project shall comply with Section(s) 6.4.2 through 6.4.7 of the LIDO inclusive; <br /> 27 b. Solid Waste Management: The following specific standards shall apply: <br /> 28 i. External space for collection of solid waste and recyclable materials. <br /> 29 Materials collected shall be consistent with the County's Solid Waste <br /> 30 Management ordinance. <br /> 31 ii. Waste collection areas shall be located in such a manner as to provide <br /> 32 convenient access for users of the facility and safe passage for service <br /> 33 vehicles. <br /> 34 iii. The following additional notes shall be provided on any submitted site plan: <br /> 35 1. Gate design will include gate retainers. <br /> 36 2. Parking shall be prohibited from blocking access to waste <br /> 37 receptacles. <br />
