This is a big countywide public art project. We need to begin <br /> meetings, find donors, and find foundation and corporate <br /> sponsorship. Artist calls should be out by January or February. <br /> This requires a full year of planning. Everyone will need to <br /> have a contingency plan. <br /> d. #MaskUpOCAC campaign. <br /> This campaign combines the efforts of the OCAC and the Health <br /> Department and Public Information Office of the county. <br /> Objections were raised about the images of people of color <br /> on the publicity posters. These posters will not be used. The <br /> OCAC recognizes the need to approach this issue differently <br /> in the future. <br /> V. FY 20-21 Grants Cycle <br /> a. Grassroots for schools. <br /> The Arts Center will have an online roster by October 1. <br /> Our application for schools is on about the same timeline. <br /> b. Panel Meeting schedule <br /> Katie sent out dates for grant panels. Board members can join <br /> additional panels too. Board members will receive grants to <br /> review through Submittable the first of the week of the 24' <br /> Note that there is a rubric correction regarding artistic merit <br /> and community impact. <br /> VI. Liaison Reports <br /> a. UNC Student Liaison <br /> The first day of classes has started. And the arts groups are on <br /> a case by case basis. <br /> b. UNC/Chapel Hill Arts Commission <br /> Playmakers may be in person for the March show. Times are very <br /> challenging for the performing arts. Playmakers is working with <br /> the actors but there are many barriers.The Chapel Hill Arts <br /> Commission will have its first meeting next week. <br /> c. Hillsborough Arts Council <br /> The gift shop is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays with 2 people <br /> working.
