Page 2 of 2 Gary Miller
Other Comments:
This application was current on:2/28/2020 6:11:26 PM Date Printed:3/2/2020
Boards/Commissions appointments:
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
As likely goes without saying for anyone applying to a board, it is my genuine desire to contribute
to the community and deepen the experience of living in this wonderful area. I can think of no
greater way to do that than through advocacy and support of the Visitor s Bureau. This area has
wonderful arts, music, nature, sports, educational, commerce, and historic experiences that
make it a great place to both live and visit. It would be an honor to be able to participate in
helping raise the profile, spread the word, and carry out the goals of the Visitors Bureau.
Conflict of Interest:
Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board:
As someone who has technically been a new resident of the area three different times, I am
able to both speak to the changes of the area over time and to see the area with fresh eyes. I
have lived in rural Orange County (near Murphy School Road), in Carrboro, and now in Chapel
Hill (Little Ridgefield neighborhood), and I am a fierce advocate of the positive aspects of the
County.
21
