I am on the conservation committee of the NC
Botanical Gardens Foundation as well as a steering committee member and policy
committee member of the Eno-New Hope Conservation Collaborative.
Past Service on Orange County Advisory Boards:
I was formerly a staff support for the Commission for the Environment.
Age Range:35-59
Commission for the Environment
Background, education and experience relevant to this board:
I have a Master of Science in Natural Resource Management with a technical focus in
Ecological Restoration. My carreer for the last 10 years has focused on land conservation and
management in the NC triangle. I am the former Orange County Land Conservation Manager
and the am currently the Director of Conservation and Stewardship for the Eno River
Association. My background is relevant to this board because it brings a strong land
conservation and management prespective on issues facing Orange County.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
I want to see a continued focus on land conservation and sound environmental management in
Orange County.
Conflict of Interest:
I do work for the Eno River Association and we often partner with Orange County on
conservation land acquisitions, but given that this board does not make those recommendations
to the BOCC, I do not see a conflict of interest.
Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board:
From my knowledge of this group, I know that most serving are most knowledgable about air
and energy and that a land perspective is needed.
7
