Buc-ee’s Phase 2 – Efland, NC <br /> <br />30 <br /> <br />8.0 Recommendations <br /> <br />Committed Improvements <br />The following improvements are committed with build-out of phase 1 of the Buc-ee’s – West <br />Orange County development and were assumed to be in place in the background and build-out <br />conditions: <br /> <br />Mt. Willing Road – I-40 WB Ramps <br /> Construct a westbound left-turn lane with 280 feet of storage and an appropriate taper on the <br />I-40 WB Ramp. <br /> Extend the existing channelized westbound right-turn lane on I-40 WB Ramp to provide a <br />continuous channelized westbound right-turn lane between West RI/RO Driveway and Mt. <br />Willing Road. <br /> Restripe the existing westbound shared left-turn lane on I-40 WB Ramp to provide an <br />exclusive through lane. <br /> Install a traffic signal. <br /> <br />US-70/I-40 Connector – I-40 EB Ramps <br /> Restripe the existing eastbound right turn lane and remove right turn channelization on the I- <br />40 EB Ramp to provide a continuous shared left/through/right-turn lane. <br /> Widen the I-40 EB Ramp to provide and exclusive eastbound left-turn lane with 400 feet of <br />storage and an appropriate taper. <br /> Extend the existing exclusive southbound left-turn lane on US-70/I-40 Connector to provide <br />400 feet of storage and an appropriate taper. <br /> Construct an additional northbound receiving lane on US-70/I-40 Connector. <br /> Install a traffic signal. <br /> <br />US-70/I-40 Connector – I-40 WB Ramps <br /> Restripe the existing westbound left-turn lane on I-40 WB Ramp to provide an exclusive <br />through lane <br /> Construct a westbound shared through/left-turn lane with 450 feet of storage and an <br />appropriate taper on I-40 WB Ramp <br /> Widen the I-40 WB Ramp to provide dual westbound right-turn lanes with 450 feet of storage <br />and appropriate tapers <br /> Construct a second receiving lane on I-40 WB Ramp departure, extending to I-40 WB <br />Service Road <br /> Extend the existing northbound left-turn lane to provide a continuous left-turn lane and a <br />continuous through lane on the northbound approach of US-70/I-40 Connector <br /> Install a traffic signal <br /> <br />476
