Buc-ee’s – Efland, NC

8

4.0 Site Traffic Distribution

The site-generated trips were assigned to the surrounding roadway network based on the
following distribution:

47% to/from the east on I-40
47% to/from the west on I-40
2% to/from the north on Mt. Willing Road
2% to/from the north on US-70/I-40 Connector
1% to/from the south on US-70/I-40 Connector
1% to/from the east on Ben Johnston Road

As noted in Section 3.0, based on receipt records from similar sites, nearly all site-generated trips
are expected to function as pass-by traffic. Therefore, trips assigned to I-40 were functionally
analyzed as pass-by trips: site trips from the west on I-40 were assigned to exit the site and
continue eastbound, with a similar assumption for trips from the east. As overall distribution was
assumed to be equal to/from the east and west on I-40, the distribution listed above was
simplified accordingly.

All other trips were assigned to/from the site consistent with typical primary trip methodology,
which assumes those trips would return to their origin upon exiting the site.

The site traffic distribution and percent assignment for the development are shown on Figure 4.1.

129
