1
Michael Harvey
From:Beth Trahos <beth.trahos@nelsonmullins.com>
Sent:Wednesday, October 28, 2020 8:37 AM
To:Michael Harvey; Craig Benedict
Cc:Stan Beard; Westwood, Kelsey
Subject:[EXTERNAL MAIL!] Fuel Storage and Oil/Water Separator Details
Attachments:Fuel Release Detection Summary.pdf; UST_TanksMonitorDetails.pdf; Oil_Water
SeparatorDetail.pdf
Michael and Craig‐

Attached please find some information about fuel storage and the oil/water separators that will be included in the
stormwater inlet systems as follows:

1) Sheets from our UST/Fuel System Plans (4 sheets)
a. Cross section of tanks
b. Cross section of excavation
c. Details of Monitoring Systems;
2) Summary Sheet from Buc‐ee’s Environmental Engineer explaining the Fuel Release Detection system; and
3) Details of Oil/Water Separator Units that will be installed within the storm inlet system around the fueling area.

Please note that the fuel storage tanks are durable: they are DOUBLE WALLED, FIBERGLASS (multiple layers), and RESIN
construction. These are not the rusty, leaky metal tanks people typically imagine.

We do not intend to make presentation tonight as this is your meeting. We will be available to answer questions. In
addition to Stan, Kelsey Earl and me, Buc‐ee’s has an environmental engineer on staff to ensure that they meet or
exceed all environmental regulations on their projects. He will also be available on the call tonight and at our meeting
tomorrow night. Please call on us if needed.

Do not hesitate to contact me with questions.
