4 <br /> Animal Services <br /> 6. Orange County Animal Services has received $7,755 in Community Giving fund <br /> donations to be used to help offset costs associated with the Veterinary Assistance <br /> program. This program assists community members with the cost of veterinary care. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these Community Giving funds, to be <br /> paid out of the Community Giving Fund, outside of the General Fund. (See Attachment <br /> 1, column #5) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice Goals <br /> associated with this item. <br /> Board of Elections <br /> 7. The Orange County Board of Elections have the following budgetary changes: <br /> • Center for Tech and Civic Life Grant - received notification of a grant award <br /> totaling $216,255 from the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), a non-profit <br /> organization, based on and in reliance upon the information and materials <br /> provided by the County through the grant application process. The grant project <br /> period runs through December 30, 2020. Consistent with the grant requirements, <br /> these funds will be used exclusively for the public purpose of planning and <br /> operational izing safe and secure election administration in Orange County in <br /> 2020. <br /> • Supplemental CARES Act Grant — received notification of supplemental CARES <br /> Act grant funds of $45,000, appropriated under Session Law 2020-97. This grant <br /> provides additional funding for COVID-related expenses for Election day, as well <br /> as funding of $100.00 in supplemental pay for Election day pollworkers. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these grant funds for the above <br /> stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column #6) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice Goals <br /> associated with this item. <br /> Orange County Transportation Services <br /> 8. Orange County Transportation Services has received notification of a grant award <br /> totaling $893,600 from the State, based on funds the North Carolina Department of <br /> Transportation (NCDOT) received from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The <br /> required local match of $223,400 will come from available Article 43 Transit Tax <br /> proceeds held by NCDOT. The total amount of $1,117,000 will be used to purchase two <br /> (2) electric buses and charging stations. The grant period runs through December 15, <br /> 2020.
