On December R, 1898, the Board of Commissioners adopted edtexia <br />and guidelines to help guide decivov-making foe joint parka projects. In <br />April, 2000, the Board created the Lands Legacy program ae a framework fov <br />the ecquieition of land for parka, open apace end resource preservation. Ia <br />May, 2000. the Board (ala¢g with the Chaps] Hill Tawn Couacil, Carrboro <br />Board of Aldermen end Hillstioressgh Baazdof Commiasiovere) appointed an <br />LvterGovexvmevtal Parka (IP) Work'Group [a foatec coordination. And in <br />February of this yeaz, the Board agreed to mneider the potential for a parka <br />and open apace bond for Novambe: 2001. <br />In the spring of this yeas, the Towne of Chaps] Hill, Carrbmo and <br />Hillsborough asked that a number of Town parka and open apace projects <br />(totaling $18.9 million) be funded by the County as part o£ a plamred <br />November 2001 band referendum. <br />
