<br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date:October 20, 2020 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-f <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Meeting Schedule for 2020 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> <br />Greg Wilder, Interim Clerk to the Board, <br />919-245-2130 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To consider changes to the Board of Commissioners’ meeting calendar for 2020. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br />Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change <br />in the Meeting Schedule. <br /> <br />Due to current public health concerns, the Board of Commissioners will be conducting Virtual <br />Board meetings during the months of November and December 2020. <br /> <br />Members of the Board of Commissioners will be participating in the meetings remotely. As <br />in prior meetings, members of the public will be able to view and listen to the meeting via online <br />streaming video or on Spectrum Cable TV. The meetings will be streamed in real-time on <br />the County’s website for public viewing/listening, real-time broadcast on Spectrum Cable, <br />and video-recorded for future television broadcast and reference on the County’s website. <br /> <br />November 2020 Virtual Meetings <br />November 5 BOCC Virtual Business Meeting – 7:00pm <br />November 12 BOCC Virtual Work Session – 7:00pm <br />November 17 BOCC Virtual Business Meeting – 7:00pm <br /> <br />December 2020 Virtual Meetings <br />December 7 BOCC Virtual Business Meeting – 7:00pm <br />December 15 BOCC Virtual Business Meeting – 7:00pm <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item. <br /> <br />1
