<br /> <br />3. The Orange County Visitors Bureau has received notification of a $10,000 grant award <br />from the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina and the North Carolina <br />Travel Industry Association. This grant period runs through December 30, 2020. <br />These funds will be used to assist with the county’s tourism recovery efforts. This <br />budget amendment provides for the receipt of $10,000 for the above stated purpose. <br />(See Attachment 1, column #3) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br />applicable to this item: <br />• GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br />necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br />themselves and their dependents. <br /> <br />Housing and Community Development <br />4. The Department of Housing and Community Development has received notification of <br />CARES Act funds of a not to exceed amount of $937,803 through the North Carolina <br />Department of Public Safety, Office of Recovery and Resiliency (NCORR). These are <br />federal reimbursement funds that include Treasury Coronavirus Relief Funds and <br />Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant - <br />Coronavirus funds. These funds will be used to prevent evictions and utility <br />disconnections, and encourage housing stability in response to the COVID-19 crisis. <br />The period for this award runs through February 28, 2021. This budget amendment <br />provides for the receipt of these funds, on a reimbursement basis, up to $937,803, for <br />the above stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column #4) <br />5. As part of Round 1 of the Coronavirus Relief Funding (CRF), $50,000 was budgeted in <br />Landlord Incentives in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Fund, but since these funds <br />are not HCV specific and can be used for any Landlord Incentives, the department <br />requests that these funds be moved to the Community Development Fund. This budget <br />amendment provides for the moving these budgeted funds from the HCV Fund to the <br />Community Development Fund.
