Update/Trails & Greenways Map/Chris Dwinell-Application Development Specialist; Orange County Land <br /> Records/GIS <br /> Phase I - Parks Locator—Completed several years ago. <br /> • Final Product was a Web Application <br /> • Data was compiled for the Facilities (Parks) and Amenities <br /> Phase II—Trails Greenways & Bikeways Project <br /> • Initial Meeting on Oct.14th 2015 <br /> • GIS Users Group Meeting on Feb. 3rd <br /> • GIS Trails Project Meeting on March 2nd <br /> • Communicating by email and phone and sometimes a quick status update/discussion at the monthly GIS <br /> meetings in Carrboro. <br /> • Bikeways - are removed from this project and are left for a future discussion/project. There can be a Phase III <br /> discussion at a later date if there is an interest. <br /> Trails and greenway project status/accomplishments/agreements to date <br /> • Needed GIS layers and feature types (points, lines and polygons) <br /> • Needed fields and values (attributes) for the layers <br /> • Designed the Model around our discussion and existing trails data <br /> • Loaded the trails data into the Model <br /> • Created replicas (replication service) with most of the municipalities. <br /> Next Steps <br /> • Set up a structured meeting schedule <br /> • Edit and populate Data for newly created fields <br /> • Check to see if we have all the trails that are available <br /> • Create the Web Application <br /> • Define how we want to search/view the data etc. <br /> 5. Update: Mountains to Sea Trail/ Dave Stancil <br /> • Community Meeting #2 was held September 19, 2016 from 7:00—9:30 pm at the Maple View Agricultural <br /> Education Center—approximately 70 people attended <br /> • Six information stations set up to help clarify concerns expressed <br /> • Land acquisition, trail easements, and eminent domain <br /> • Fire protection, personal safety, and managing trail use <br /> • Liability and insurance <br /> • Maintaining residents' privacy and rural character <br /> • Water quality in the Cane Creek watershed <br /> • Trail corridor and alternate routes <br />
