ao ) vJSh <br /> RES - 202M58 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ORANGE COUNTY APPLICATION FOR <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING <br /> FOR THE EMERGENCY HOUSING ASSISTANCE FUND <br /> WHEREAS , the Orange County Emergency Housing Assistance fund , formerly called <br /> the Housing Stabilization Fund, was established by the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> in 2018 as part of the Risk Mitigation and Housing Displacement Fund in order to provide <br /> emergency financial assistance to low-income residents of the County to help secure and <br /> maintain stable housing ; and, <br /> WHEREAS , the Orange County Board of Commissioners has previously indicated its <br /> desire to increase funding to the Emergency Housing Assistance fund in order to stabilize <br /> County residents and the local housing market in the wake of the COVID - 19 pandemic ; and , <br /> WHEREAS , the Commissioners have held two public hearings concerning the proposed <br /> application for Community Development Block Grant funding to benefit the County ' s <br /> Emergency Housing Assistance fund ; and, <br /> WHEREAS , the Commissioners wish the County to pursue a formal application for <br /> Community Development Block Grant funding to benefit the Emergency Housing Assistance <br /> fund ; and have invested monies in the amount of eight hundred eighty thousand dollars <br /> ($ 880 , 000) from the County ' s Coronavirus Relief Fund allocation into the project as committed <br /> to in the application . <br /> WHEREAS , the Commissioners certify that the County will meet all federal regulatory <br /> and statutory requirements of the State of North Carolina Community Development Block Grant <br /> Program, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED , by the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners that Orange County is authorized to submit a formal application on behalf of <br /> Orange County to the North Carolina Department of Commerce for approval of a Community <br /> Development Block Grant to benefit the Emergency Housing Assistance fund . <br /> Adopted this .the 6th day of October, 2020 in Orange County, North Carol ' a . <br /> 24 <br /> ranyge <br /> Rich, C aircv� Co my Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTES - <br /> Clerk to t e oa <br />
