He said the contractor has proposed a very reasonable fee for the project, and the <br /> committee is eager to proceed. Discussion Regarding the Recital of the Pledge of Allegiance at Board of <br /> Commissioners' Meetings <br /> The Board considered the recital of the Pledge of allegiance at Board of County <br /> Commissioners' meetings. <br /> Bonnie Hammersley reviewed the following information: <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Board of Commissioners has previously received petitions requesting that the Board <br /> consider reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at all Board meetings. This item responds to those <br /> requests and gives Board members an opportunity to discuss the potential recital of the Pledge <br /> at meetings. <br /> If the Board determines to move forward with reciting the Pledge at some or all meetings, staff <br /> will incorporate the Pledge recital into future meeting agendas as appropriate and will also draft <br /> an amendment to the Board's Rules of Procedure, to be considered at a future meeting, to <br /> formalize the practice. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): <br /> The Manager recommends that the Board discuss the potential recital of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance at Board of Commissioners' meetings and provide any direction to staff as <br /> appropriate. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />
