Inspiring change. <br /> October 16, 2018 <br /> Subject: Expert review of water fluoridation <br /> To Whom It May Concern, <br /> As a member of the Orange County Board of Health, I am contacting you to see if you can <br /> serve as an expert in your field to address water fluoridation . <br /> Recognizing that there is public dissent on the issue of fluoridation, Orange Water and <br /> Sewer Authority ( OWASA) requested that the Orange County Board of Health ( BOH) <br /> address this issue . The BOH ' s review plan is based on our responsibility to protect and <br /> promote the public health of Orange County while recognizing that OWASA has authority <br /> over water fluoridation . <br /> We will ask the environmental, dental and medical experts to address water fluoridation <br /> and to provide their observations and findings in a summary report, that: <br /> 1 . Addresses key concerns provided through public comment to OWASA and BOH <br /> 2 . References latest science on the effects of fluoridation on all aspects of human health, <br /> a . Including potential harm to those in the population who may be at most risk <br /> (in utero, children and elderly <br /> b . For example, evidence of human health benefits from public water <br /> fluoridation, especially as this pertains to oral health <br /> c . For example, evidence of potential human harms, with special focus on <br /> possible adverse neurologic and endocrinological effects <br /> 3 . Utilizes a public health framework in the review process <br /> Would you consider serving as an expert by submitting a formal response to the items listed <br /> above ?
