Animal Services Advisory Board updates: <br /> • Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool Updates <br /> o All recommendations approved by BOCC <br /> • Board vacancies <br /> o ASAB Appointment Recommendation Updates <br /> ■ Recommendations approved for Sue Millager and Sunita Driehuys <br /> o New applicant for animal trainer position <br /> ■ Susan Spinks <br /> ■ Ms. Spinks shared her experience and interest in serving on the <br /> board <br /> o ASAB member Lisa Wells submitted her resignation from the board effective <br /> immediately <br /> ■ ASAB retail position now vacant <br /> o New appointees Sue Millager and Sunita Driehuys in attendance <br /> Old Business <br /> • Update on mission and naming of Evelyn Daniel Fund <br /> o Staff and Casey Ferrell will coordinate and bring back recommendations to the board for <br /> March meeting <br /> • County Commissioner Letter of Appreciation Regarding Seized Animals <br /> o Board reviewed copy and suggested several edits <br /> o Motion to approve (unanimous) <br /> • Wild and Dangerous Task Force <br /> o Adds the word "potentially"to the Division 5 title language <br /> o Expands definition of"wild animals potentially dangerous to person and property(i.e., <br /> wild and dangerous animals)to include zoonotic and epidemiological harms <br /> o Does not add or remove species, only modifies/clarifies <br /> ■ Notable exception: proposed language allows for keeping of hybrid felines if they <br /> meet an F5 criteria <br /> o Exemptions <br /> ■ Expands to include institutions similar in mission to UNC-CH <br /> ■ Addition of legitimate organizations (items (c) and (d)) <br /> o Establishes process for petitioning for modifications <br /> ■ Exemptions would be at species level, not individual animal level <br /> o Board discussion followed <br /> o Motion to approve documentation as ASAB policy recommendation (unanimous) <br /> New Business <br /> • 2019 Community Spay& Neuter Report(Cooper Hatch, PC) <br /> o Report showed continued success in reducing euthanasia rate and increasing live release <br /> rate <br /> o Secured funding from PetCo for ongoing support of the Working Barn Cat program <br />
