446 <br /> The current adopted TRM provides an outlook on the future transportation network, taking <br /> into account: <br /> • Population and employment projections to 2045 with the understanding Orange, <br /> Durham, Wake, Chatham and surrounding counties, including their member jurisdictions <br /> are fully developed and will reach 100% maximum growth based on current land use <br /> regulations <br /> • All current and future federal and regionally funded transportation projects like 1-40 and <br /> 1-85 widened widening are completed <br /> • All existing and committed road improvements projects are completed, including <br /> bike/pedestrian, transit, and rail projects are completed <br /> • All future transportation projects from 2025 — 2045 as approved in the 2045 MTP are <br /> completed <br /> • Data, analysis, alternative scenarios and results are checked by multiple sources <br /> including Triangle J Council of Government, University of North Carolina, DCHC MPO, <br /> and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO). <br /> NCDOT measures Level of Service (LOS) as "the relationship of travel demand compared <br /> to the roadway capacity of a roadway. Six levels of service identify the range of possible <br /> conditions. Designations range from LOS A, which represents the best operating <br /> conditions, to LOS F, which represents the worst operating conditions."TRM also provides <br /> future LOS. The TRM LOS is the adopted record. Consultants also use LOS to assess <br /> current and future travel conditions. LOS is synonymous to letter grades for road <br /> performance.
