8. Seymour Center— Early Voting Site and Passmore Center— New Election Day Precinct voting site. <br /> a. The new Passmore precinct will be in the back half of the great hall and will bring in a lot of new <br /> visitors. <br /> New Business <br /> 9. Budget FY 20-21 <br /> a. Due on Monday, flat budget, if we need anything we will have to move money from existing <br /> accounts. <br /> b. Review of Outside Agency Applications <br /> i. Still have not received the applications. As soon as Janice gets them she will contact <br /> Vibeke, Taketha & Dick for review. <br /> c. Need a delegate for the TJCOG —Area Agency on Aging board to replace Ed Tiryakian. Ed is <br /> resigning to focus on his Dying Right NC work. Ed will continue going to the quarterly meetings <br /> until a replacement is found. The format is an info exchange and is beginning to be more active <br /> in advocacy. Great opportunity to learn about legislation and the counties in TJCOG-AAA. The <br /> board was asked to consider volunteering as a delegate or to recommend someone. Suggested <br /> that Project EngAGE graduates might be interested. Janice will check with them. <br /> 2017-22 Master Aging Plan <br /> 10. Report from MAP Steering Committee held on Jan. 31 <br /> 11. Second Quarter (Oct/Nov/Dec) MAP Workgroup Updates <br /> a. Housing Preservation / Home Repair- Ryan <br /> i. Handy Helpers increased the number of jobs. In the past HH completed 23 jobs per year <br /> up to 35 as of Feb. 2020. Predicting 105 at 50 different homes this year. Finding funding <br /> is a challenge and they are looking for funding sources, partners, grants, etc. Currently 7 <br /> skilled handy helpers. Requesting that their budget be doubled to $10k. <br /> ii. Home Preservation Coalition <br /> 1. New partners coming on monthly. Using Airtable to coordinate and <br /> communicate. The database is more widely used to track countywide projects <br /> and aggregate information. <br /> 2. MOU finished and going to County attorney to help the process work more <br /> efficiently and fluidly. <br /> 3. "Open door" applications for assistance can come in through multiple venues. <br /> Online application coming soon. <br /> 4. BOCC just approved climate change tax to be used for weatherization (anything <br /> that will improve insulation and protectiveness for a home) for lower-income <br /> homes. The Housing department will manage the funds. $19K to go for LED <br /> lightbulbs. <br /> 5. OWASA is working on using funding to help with water weatherization/energy <br /> savings through the Home Preservation Coalition. 70% of those being helped <br /> were older adults or had an older adult in the home. <br /> 6. Database provides a comprehensive waitlist and has helped to expedite repairs. <br /> iii. Affordability Housing- Cherie <br /> 1. The MAP Housing workgroup is strong with representation from all towns except <br /> Hillsborough. Will be meeting with the Hillsborough mayor to advocate for <br /> representation. All involved appreciate the need for an updated data, especially <br /> data on seniors. Working to gather and update the status of seniors and housing <br /> in OC. <br />
