Alliance for Historic Hillsborough, Hillsborough, NC 2005 – 2010 • Served as a Board member, Chair and Vice Chair, and as liaison to the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation. Orange County Human Relations Commission, Orange County, NC 2003 – 2006 • Served as a Commissioner to “…promote equal treatment to all individuals…” and as liaison to the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation. Town of Hillsborough Occoneechee Mountain Park Committee 1995 – 1999 • Served as a committee member and as liaison to the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation to keep the Mountain from being destroyed by building trails with signage. The overall goal was to purchase the Mountain and designate it as a North Carolina State Park which happened in March of 1999.
