I have bachelor degrees in the social (Anthropology)
and biological (zoology) sciences with a doctorate in genetics and molecular biology. This
training helps me be aware of my social and natural world. Both which are essential for how I
practice my creative efforts
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
Having an opportunity to serve on this board will allow me to harvest other s opportunities for
sharing their vision, grow with the creative community around me. Ultimately, I want to be a part
of fueling meaningful relationships for the arts to help advance how we interact and share as a
community.
Conflict of Interest:
Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board:
Being a person of color with an advanced degree in the sciences and practicing a craft that has
historically had little coverage by people of color gives me an opportunity to be forward facing for
our community. I truly believe generating awareness and opportunity to utilize creative
resources will be vital for reaching hidden talents of unrecognized communities. Sharing my
story is just a small step, while listening to others is the true responsibility to generating change
8
